Our Policies

Welcome to Penelope Red

All items in the range have been handmade, to bring to my customers individuality, quality, style, and a little bit of "wow" factor!

Once you have decided on a particular style, you must ensure that you compare your own body measurements to the measurements provided for each garment. If you need any assistance in this step, please feel free to connect me at designer@penelopered.com.au or using the "contact' page.

As soon as payment is received, I will ship your purchase by the next following work day (Monday to Friday), unless I have otherwise contacted you.

Your beautiful garments will be individually wrapped up in tissue paper, and sent with a thank you note, just to make it that little bit more special!

Payment

Paypal is the only option for payment.

Please note the Penelope Red Big Cartel shop is in AUD. If you would like to purchase in USD, please visit the Penelope Red etsy site.

I will ship your purchase as soon as I get the payment, by the next working day (Monday to Friday), unless I have otherwise contacted you. Please contact me before purchase if you need it urgently!

I use Australia Post to ship goods currently, and they deliver world wide.

For Australian deliveries, I use the Express Post option.

For overseas deliveries, I use registered post. This option is more expensive, but the peace of mind is worth it- you receive a tracking number, and you must sign for it upon arrival.

If you would like to have your purchase insured, then please contact me regarding fees.

The shipping charges do not include any customs or duty charges that may be due in a particular country. Penelope Red has no control over those charges and they are the sole responsibility of the person placing the order.

Refunds and Exchanges

Please be sure to check your measurements when placing an order. The measurements for each garment can easily be obtained by emailing me on designer@penelopered.com.au to help ensure there are no unnecessary returns.

Penelope Red will accept exchanges on items that do not fit, however, the shipment back to Penelope Red, and back to the customer, is the responsibility of the customer. Please be sure to contact me within 14 days from date of shipment, if you need to exchange a garment.

Please note all sale items will not be refundable. (They can be exchanged for something else of equal or lesser value if the fit is not right.)

I always double check each garment before shipping, as well as I wrap everything in tissue paper as well as plastic to avoid liquid penetrating, however, if a garment has some how been damaged during shipment, please contact me ASAP. I will then need to contact Australia Post regarding this.

Additional Policies and FAQs

Sizing and Fit:
With every design, I base my sizing on an Australian size 10 and then adjust accordingly for each design. I am sure you would know, standard sizing is never easy to find. Generally a standard AU size 10 woman should have the following BODY measurements:

Bust: 34.5inches
Waist: 27.5inches
Hip: 38inches

Where I have substituted the US sizing, I have just applied the rule that you need to take away 4 digits from your AU sizing to get the equivalent US. This is usually used internationally, so if you are an Australian size 10, then you would be an American size 6, an AU size 8 would be a US size 4 and so on.

I grade my patterns from an AU size 10, to another AU size by 2 inches per size. E.g. an AU size 12, is 2 inches bigger all around then an AU size 10.

Please note that this is just a guide to keep in mind and as designs vary and fabrics play a part, please always check the measurements given for each style and measure that against your body.
